Home videographers:
Many home videographers produce shows with excellent quality and high production value. Other, more casual videographers capture video that may be as simple as a few seconds of film showing a species at a feeder or demonstrating a specific behavior. We are interested in developing a video library of as many bird species as possible, demonstrating as many different behaviors as possible.

You may sign up to become a BirdzillaTV videographer at any time. Everyone is invited. There is no charge to submit your work. You may even earn revenues for yourself or one of our conservation partners.

Formats:

Web
Movies to be shown on the Web should be submitted as Flash or QuickTime formats

All movies submitted will be reviewed for appropriate content and topic quality.

Movies in QuickTime format will be coverted to Flash. This makes the movie available to a wider audience and makes it more difficult for the movies to be copied.

iPod
Movies for viewing on Apple's iPod should be submitted in QuickTime or already converted to iPod format.

Species specific movies
If your movie is a video clip of a particular species you may wish to search for movies already in the database before submitting. We do not wish to duplicate movies. For eample, if we already have a good quality movie clip of a male American Goldfinch in breeding plumage at a backyard feeder we will not post another one. If we only have a male goldfinch and yours is of a female then please submit it. If your movie is of higher quality please submit it also.

Pay for view
If you are submitting a movie that you ask viewers to pay to view or download you will have the opportunity to select a price for the movie. You will receive 30% of the sales of your movie. Payment will be made on balances in excess of $25.00. Payments are made on a quarterly basis, within 45 days of the end of the preceedng quarter.

Banner advertising
By default, banner ads will be placed on the movie player and on your channel page, if you have one. You will receive 30% of the advertising revenue generated by your movie. Movies produced by commercial entities will have the opportunity to exclude ads of competing compnies or to use their own banners ads on their own pages.

Your control panel will show all of your movies, the number of times they have been viewed or purchased, and earnings generated.

Your own channel:
You can have your own channel on the BirdzillaTV web site. Having your channel provides increased exposure on the site and increases your earning opportunities.

To have your own channel you must have at least 5 different programs or video clips, and a total of one hour of programming. Several short programs will, in general, be more successful than a few long ones. Fifteen minutes is a good maximum length.

Conservation and educational organizations may be given a waiver on the programming requiremnts.
